The Nonlinear Path of Health — What Supports Lasting Wellbeing
Being healthy is no small endeavor. And like most meaningful journeys, it rarely follows a straight line
There are twists. Unexpected turns. Moments that seem to pull us off course—often just when we think we’ve found the “right” path.
It’s tempting to believe:
If I just do this, then that, then that… I’ll feel better. Balanced. Back to myself.
But health doesn’t always work this way.
Being well and healthy is a living, changing process. Much of it is out of our control—and yet, each day brings countless choices. Sometimes too many, leaving us overwhelmed or unsure where to begin.
So here we are—without a clear formula, and with more options than clarity. At Mindful Wellness Space we have your back, and can help you dynamically steer within the varied landscape of holistic healing.
A Whole-System Approach to Care
At Mindful Wellness Space, founders Dr. Kirsten West, DC, MS, and Emily Horn, CMT-P, believe in a whole-system approach to healing that integrates body, mind, and nervous system in support of lasting and deep wellbeing. We are here to help navigate all the choices with expertise and empower you to listen more deeply to your own sense of health.
We don’t separate physical health from mental or emotional wellbeing and understand the body, mind, and nervous system as one interconnected system—constantly adapting, responding, and communicating. It isn’t natural for healing to be linear. It requires different things and different times.
So, rather than forcing a linear path, Mindful Wellness Space offers a different approach by integrating different holistic health modalities as treatments for various body-mind systems, including your inner experience. Thus allowing health and well being to unfold in a more natural, layered and sustainable way.
Even if it sometimes feels like choices are overwhelming and you’e taking two steps forward and 5 steps back.
Treatments here may begin with Dr. Kirsten West MS, DC and include:
Chiropractic care
Supports nervous system regulation and helps the body unwind patterns it has been holding or adapting around.
Applied Kinesiology
Identifies the body’s primary stressors—physical, chemical, or emotional—often revealing patterns that haven’t fully surfaced yet.
Functional blood work
Offers a snapshot of your physiology, helping us understand what is asking for attention at a deeper level.
Targeted supplementation
Carefully individualized and guided by your body’s needs—because one protocol does not fit all.
So, if you’ve been searching for applied kinesiology and/or chiropractic care near you or even a more integrative, holistic health approach, this is where Dr. Kirsten West MS, DC will begin. She listens deeply—meeting you where you are and helping you understand how your system is adapting, protecting, and asking for support.
Mindfulness & somatic support
Works with these same patterns from the inside—helping you build awareness, regulate your nervous system, and relate differently to stress, emotions, and habitual responses.
Working With the Same System From the Inside
We undersatnd that lasting wellbeing isn’t only physical—it’s also how we relate to our experience.
Through mindfulness and somatic awareness, we begin to:
Unwind habitual patterns
Regulate the nervous system
Navigate emotions with more capacity
Build a more grounded relationship with ourselves
This is the same system being supported through chiropractic care, Applied Kinesiology, and functional medicine—just approached from the inside out and with mindfulness based training.
Emily Horn, CMT-P brings years of experience guiding this process through breath, awareness, and practical tools that help shift long-held patterns held in both body and mind.
Over time, this work doesn’t just reduce symptoms—it builds resilience.
You become more able to meet difficulty with steadiness—and more available to fully receive the moments of ease, connection, and joy that are already here.
